In assessing the sustainability of materials we consider; the extraction of the raw material, its processing, manufacture and distribution, its in-use, repair and maintenance, and end of life disposal and recycling.
We select the general materials for our projects with the aim of:
- Supporting the health of the occupants
- Promoting performance longevity
- Ease of future repair
- Ease of recycling
- Using products made in NZ
Ultimately, we consider the legacy we leave to those who inherit what we have created, and by building a little smaller we can use less, leaving more to go around.
